Summer Fete for the National Garden Scheme
Despite the fact it was the World Cup our National Garden Scheme Summer Fete raised over £100 on the 24th June. Held at our Garden Design Centre, Hambrooks of Titchfield from 12pm -4pm we had a number of stalls and games for visiting families and their children. Homemade cake, books, toys and plants were all popular while ‘guess the name of the horse’ and ‘how many sweets in the jar’ kept the young ones intrigued!
We often have ‘Open Day’s to raise funds for the NGS at our Garden Design Centre, however this is the first time we have combined it with an event and it is something we will repeat next year.
The National Garden Scheme is a charity that raises money through inviting people to open their gardens to the public. Some of the charities the NGS support include Parkinson’s UK, Gardens & Health, The Queen’s Nursing Institute and Marie Curie.
While visitors to our Garden Design Centre can visit any time, we use these opportunities to not only raise awareness of the NGS but also to encourage donations to this good cause.
