‘Outdoor rooms’ is such a buzzword today and with that comes the trend of garden kitchens. Garden kitchens complete with cooking facilities, sinks with running water and outdoor units really are the 21st century ‘must have’ extension of our homes.
Verandahs enjoy a Revival
This use of outdoor space really takes the concept of outdoor entertaining to another level. Our inclement weather is often the reason we perhaps don’t make the most of our gardens during the summer months. Although this summer is an exception! However, there is now a solution to that too. Verandahs are enjoying a revival and provide perfect cover for garden kitchens and outdoor eating.
Along with your garden kitchen, dining room tables and seating in modern synthetic materials such as plastic fibres or resin are made to look ‘natural’. These are available in any colour or style and adds to the authenticity of outdoor entertaining.
To add to these new ‘rooms’ elaborate garden furniture mirrors indoor sofas, loungers and day beds. Cushions and rugs made in weatherproof material such as oilcloth provides facilities for real post supper relaxation. Additionally, firepits will ensure you keep warm as the evenings grow cooler. While stylish outdoor lighting such as chandeliers, standard lamps and planters with integral lights help to create a warm ambiance.
