Everyone loves fresh flowers: they give a sense of luxury and glamour to any room! Experienced florist Natasha B will share some of the secrets of her profession in this enjoyable workshop. Learn the art of showing off even the smallest bunch of flowers to their best!
During the workshop, Natasha will guide you through arranging your own fresh flowers, from the selection she has in stock. Please bring your favourite vase with you to use, or Natasha will have a selection of simple bowls for you to buy on the day. The principles you learn in this workshop will ensure you can display flowers beautifully at home whenever you want to.
You may choose to wear light gardening gloves for the workshop if you prefer, although they are not essential. Please bring secateurs or strong scissors for cutting stems to length, or they are available to purchase from Hambrooks on the day. Please think about how you will take your completed arrangement home without spilling it! Please remember this is a practical workshop so be prepared to get hands on and perhaps a little messy.

Hanging baskets can bring a flurry of floral colour to fences and front doors! Make sure yours are the envy of the neighbours with our hanging basket masterclass. Lead by our plant experts in centre, they will explain how to create a well-balanced display, as well as sharing their advice on how to keep it blooming throughout the season.
Your ticket price includes the basket and liner, a choice of plants from our selection of quality seasonal stock and the composts in which to plant. You may wish to bring your own gardening gloves and hand tools, although they won’t be essential and you can buy them in store on the day if you wish.
Please do think about how you will take your basket home as it may be heavy once planted and watered.

A terrarium is a ‘miniature garden’ planted inside a small (usually sealed) glass container. They are usually self-sustaining, a fully functioning mini-ecosystem, so are beautiful and easy to look after. Although originally a Victorian idea, it is probably their beauty, low-maintenance and modern style containers that have seen their recent return to popularity.
In our hands-on workshop, qualified florist Natasha B will take you through assembly your own terrarium. She will have all the plants and compost materials you will need included in the price of the workshop; you can either bring your own glass container to use or she will have a simple selection to choose from on the day, included in the course price.
Natasha will also take you through the after-care advice, to ensure that your terrarium thrives when you take it home. (And please think about how you will safely transport it home!)
All our workshops will take place inside our Garden Centre so under cover but please do dress warmly, especially for workshops taking place during the colder months, and we recommend warm, comfy shoes. Please remember they are practical workshops so be prepared to get hands on and perhaps a little messy. We will provide a hot drink during the workshop but you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks if you wish. Hambrooks Garden Centre is an accessible site. We have accessible toilets and plenty of parking on site.
All our workshops require a minimum of 5 participants for them to be viable. If ticket sales fall below this, we reserve the right to cancel the workshop but will offer a refund (minus any non-refundable Eventbrite fees).
Many of our workshops are also available on request so if there is something you are interested in but can’t make that date, please email us to enquire.
