Breast Cancer Haven Summer Celebration

Breast Cancer Haven in Titchfield (BCH) held a special Summer Celebration Party on the 6th June. Held as a ‘thank you’ to their large number of enthusiastic volunteers and supporters, it took place athe event was held at Hambrooks of Titchfield Earlier this year, one of its show gardens was revamped and dedicated to the BCH.

Over one hundred guests enjoyed barbequed food while mingling in the 16 show gardens. Award winning vintage entertainer, cabaret producer and hostess Dawn Gracie, treated them to an evening of entertainment.

Additionally,  BBC South Today television presenter Sally Taylor agreed to support the event. She officially cut the ribbon at 8pm to open the BCH ‘pink’ garden.

Pink Garden

With a large pink garden cabin serving as a backdrop, the garden emulates the BCH brand colours of pink and purple. It is planted with pink lupins and delphiniums, pink and purple petunias together with the famously scented Gertrude Jekyll pink rose.

Frank Banting, Assistant manager said, “We are always keen to support a local charity and our partnership with BCH is just perfect. This is  because we have the facilities to create a garden of peace and tranquillity.  Visitors of the BCH – or anyone – can come here to sit and enjoy the highly visual and scented ambiance of this pretty garden.”

Heidi Rehman, Community Fundraiser said ‘The beautiful garden that Hambrooks has built for us within their Garden Design Centre will help us raise more awareness for BCH. Our greatest need is to ensure we reach those people that need our help most. We are so grateful for their ongoing support. Our Summer celebration party was the perfect event to officially open the garden.”
